How much does a business website cost in Ireland?

A business website in Ireland costs anything from €60 a year to several thousand euro to build, and the published prices are not for the same thing. What separates them is who writes and builds it, what happens after launch, and what it costs to keep running.

Three kinds of website, three kinds of price

The prices Irish web designers publish fall into three models, and comparing across them is comparing different things.

  1. 1A site you build yourself on a website builder, paid monthly, where the time is yours.
  2. 2A packaged site on a platform such as WordPress: a fixed price for a set number of pages, often with the first year of domain and hosting included.
  3. 3A site built and run for you, priced by the job, with upkeep sold separately.

Published prices, side by side

As each business published them on 29 October 2026, each with its own VAT wording. Where a seller adds VAT at 23% to a published price, you pay that much more than the figure shown.

WhoPublished priceWhat it is
Web60€60 a year excluding VAT (€73.80 with VAT)A WordPress site written and designed by AI, with Irish hosting, backups and the first year's domain
Nua, Affordable Web Design€799 + VAT, or €699 + VAT paid in advanceUp to fifteen pages on WordPress, with the first year's domain, hosting and email; hosting then €79 + VAT a year
FourWinds, a landing page€750One page with one job and its enquiry form, timed on a phone and tested before it goes live.
FourWinds, a business site€1,500Up to six pages, with the enquiry form, analytics and the cookie banner set up and tested together.
FourWinds, a larger site€2,500Up to twelve pages, with a news or blog section and your Google Business Profile set up.

What the build price should include

Ask any quote these questions, because the answers explain most of the gap between prices:

  1. 1Who writes the words? Copy written for you is a cost, and an empty page is not a website. We charge €100 a page where we write it.
  2. 2Is it tested on a phone before it goes live, and are the enquiry forms sent for real to prove they arrive?
  3. 3Are analytics and the cookie banner set up together, so nothing tracks a visitor before they agree?
  4. 4Who owns the code and the domain at the end, and in whose name is the domain registered?
  5. 5What does it cost to change it after launch, and who does it?

The running costs

A website costs money every year after it is built, and a quote that does not say how much is half a quote. Three costs recur:

  1. 1The domain, paid to a registrar each year. A .ie domain needs a connection to Ireland, which our .ie guide explains.
  2. 2Hosting, which keeps the site online. Blacknight, an Irish host, publishes shared plans from €5.49 a month on a yearly plan, excluding VAT. What hosting includes goes through what to look for.
  3. 3Upkeep: updates, backups, and somebody checking the forms still work. Ours is €45 a month, with half an hour of changes included and €95 an hour beyond that.

What the law adds to a website

An Irish business website that collects any personal data, even through a contact form, needs a privacy notice a visitor can find, and one that tracks visitors needs their agreement before the tracking starts. Does your website need a privacy notice? and what a site can run before consent cover both.

Some sites also come under the European Accessibility Act, which has applied in Ireland since June 2025; whether it applies to your website depends on what the site sells and on the size of the business.
